ANDREW JOHN PEEBLES July 19, 1942 - May 15, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Andy at his residence on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the age of 60 years. He leaves to mourn his untimely passing, his soulmate and best friend, Bobbi; his daughters, Maureen (Brit), Kim (Dennis), Shannon (Jim) and Colleen (Chris) brothers, Jim, Raymond (Sybil), Fred (Mavis) and Victor (Kerri) sisters, Dorothy, Margaret (John), Margie, Shirley (Chico), Leila (Doug), Marlene and Rita (Pat) 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Maryann, his brother Kenny, sister-in-law Josephine and brothers-in-law Kenny and Bert. Andy drove cement mixer for 42 years. He worked for Selkirk Redi-Mix, Winnipeg Supply, Lafarge, ABM and Able. His favourite saying was, Ive backed up further than youve driven ahead. He made many friends throughout his life and never forgot any of them. He always had time to help others. He loved to laugh and have fun. He will always be remembered for his big heart and beautiful smile. Some of his favourite pastimes were driving taxi, playing cards, horse races, watching sports and visiting the casino. Most recently Andy enjoyed many happy hours playing pool with the boys at the Gordon Howard Centre. Andy loved children and they loved him. He worked very hard with, Kids fishing for a Cure to help pediatric cancer patients. At the time of his passing he was Vice-President and looking forward to the annual Fishing derby being held on June 7. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m. also in the chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Andrews on the Red Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Edward, Robert, Michael, Dean, David, Ed, Darren, Desi, Cory, Warren, Jason, Kenny and Curtis. In lieu of flowers, donations in Andys memory can be made to the Kids fishing for a Cure. Precious, you will be forever loved, be happy, Rest in Peace.
