Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE RUBY (VILLET) PICKERSGILL Alice Ruby Pickersgill, widow of the late Thomas Walker Pickersgill, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at Claresholm, AB at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by a son Norman; daughter Frances Gooding; sister Jenny and son-in-law Edward Gooding. She is the beloved mother-in-law of Anna Pickersgill of Calgary and is also survived by four grandchildren, Thomas Edward Gooding of Utica, New York, Teena (John) Courtney of Melbourne, Florida, Arlene (Mike) Nubar of North Bay, New York and Delores (Brian) Olds of Frankfurt, New York; six great-grandchildren, Justin and Sarah Courtney, Michael, Eric and Jordan Nubar and Jacob Olds. Alice was born in Bishop, California and came to Canada at the age of four years when her mother died. She was raised and educated by her paternal grandparents in Prince Edward Island. At the age of 16, Alice moved to Winnipeg, MB and married Tom of Norwood, MB. Their eldest child, Frances graduated in nursing from St. Boniface Hospital and son Norman joined the R.C.A.F. Upon their retirement, they moved to Black Diamond, AB and in 1978 moved to Claresholm. Alice was very active in the Claresholm United Church and Senior Drop In Centre. She enjoyed music, dancing and poker. Service will be held at the Claresholm United Church on Wednesday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kimberly Heath officiating. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Calgary (1920-11th Street S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3G2).
