LOUISE KASKAWAL April 14, 1931 - May 18, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Kaskawal on May 18, 2003 in Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 72. Louise is survived by her husband Nick Kaskawal; daughter Sharon (Jim) Danielson; sons, Wayne Barr (Nichole), Allan Barr, Donald Barr, John (Marlene) Barr and Walter (Wendy) Barr; daughter-in-law Lynn Barr; also 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings, Al (Jerry) Friesen from Red Deer, AB; sisters, Grace (Earl) Smith from Arnes, MB, Doreen Friesen from Vancouver, BC, Marion Broszeit from Winnipeg, Diane Desrochers from Hawaii and sister-in-law Marie Bolichowski from Winnipeg; as well as various nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by parents, Cornielius and Christina Friesen; sons, James Barr and Lloyd Barr; and sister Irene. Louise worked at Woolco and then Wal-Mart for 20 years while raising eight children with the help of husband Nick. Louise always looked forward to large family gatherings, particularly Christmas and the summer barbecues at Winnipeg Beach. Being surrounded by her children and grandchildren brought her much joy. She loved to play bingo and travelling to various casinos with her friend Verna. Louise also enjoyed spending her summer weekends selling at the Flea Market. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22 in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., viewing one hour prior to service. Pastor Gerald Froese and Pastor Erik Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetic Society and/or the Kidney Foundation. Special thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge in Section E3.
