DORA MAYER (nee LAVALLEE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, Dora Mayer, aged 77 on May 18, 2003 at Dinsdale Personal Care Home in Brandon, MB. The Lord saw her pain and took her into his arms where she would suffer no more. Her lengthy battle with Diabetes ended when God welcomed her into Heaven. She will be lovingly missed by her surviving children, Ethel (Garfield) McKay, Rose Mayer, Ethel (Brian) Harte, Lorraine Brundige, Nelson (Ella) Mayer, Armand Mayer, Carolyn (Mike) Still, Marilyn (Ken McClintock), Pam Roulette, John (Shelley) Mayer and Maxine (Wyatt) Reinson, 37 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her sisters, Clarisse Mink, Therese Mayer and brother Charlie Lavallee. She now joins her loving husband Nelson Mayer in Heaven, as well as her children, Angelina and infant son; grandson, Brandon Kruse; parents, Marie and Moise Lavallee; sisters, Bernadette Ballantyne, Flora, Rose and Leona Lavallee and brothers, Frank, Ernie, William and Harvey Lavallee. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Maier and the staff at Dinsdale Personal Care Home for their care and compassion shown to our mother during these last few months. In accordance with moms wishes, funeral services will be held in Brandon. Prayers will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 - 8th St. on Wednesday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church, 327 - 4th Street, on Thursday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Leo Fernandes as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Mallory and Wally Umpherville, Stephen and Scott Cyr, Jason George, David and Frank Kruse, Andrew Shelton, Nelson Mayer (Jr.), Armand Mayer (Jr.), Sean Still, Kyle McClintock, Tyson and Cody Roulette and Jessie Mayer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or 727B - 10th St., Brandon, MB R7A 4G7.
