JACOB (JACK) FRANK REIMER Surrounded in a circle of love Jacob Frank Reimer (Jack) peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2003. He was predeceased by his loving wife Anastasia (Nettie), with whom he enjoyed 56 adventuresome years together. Jack leaves behind a loving family, his son Jack (Joan McAdam) daughters, Christine (Matt) Mangano and Diane (Ray) Mariash. Jack loved his grandchildren, Derrick (Pam May), Tyson, Tara (Mark Striepe), Tyler, Max and great-grandson Jack Byron Reimer. Dad and Grandpa was a mentor to all of us. He also leaves behind his sister Anne and Vic Martens; and sister-in-law Mary Kuzyk. Jack was born in Russia on January 13, 1917. He left Russia as a young boy on the high seas for Canada. Jack lived in Beamsville, Beardmore, and St. Catherines, ON, ultimately settling in Winnipeg in 1950. Jack was honoured to serve as the first President of the East Kildonan Chamber of Commerce. As a young business entrepreneur, Jack built and established a service station in East Kildonan called Dunrobin Motors, and, most notably, the landmark known as Deacons Corner, located on TransCanada Highway East of Winnipeg. Deacons Corner continues to be a very popular meeting place for the community and the travelling public. Jack had a special affinity for the land stemming back from his youth on his sister Sues farm. Jack got great pleasure planting and nurturing trees on his property. Jack enjoyed his day-to-day work and the people that were involved in his work life. Because of Jacks contributions, a road in the R.M. of Springfield has been designated as Reimer Road. Great times and great memories were shared in Maui with Nettie and his family. A special thanks to Jacks wonderful friends and neighbours, Tony and Maria Funk, Adele Korolyk, Al and Donna Srutwa, Dragan and Mary Gagic, and Cal and Betty Courtney. We would also like to thank Jacks nieces Peggy Wilton and Elaine Pinto for their kindness. We are most appreciative of the compassionate care given to our wonderful father from the staff on 4E, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Good-Bye Dad - Love you Forever, your family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. 1 East at Navin Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacks memory may be made to John G. Stewart School (Knowles Centre Inc.), 2065 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R2G 1P6. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
