WILLIAM RUDY May 8, 1919 - May 17, 2003 It is with deep sadness, after a long courageous battle with cancer, that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Rudy, at the Grace General Hospital on May 17, 2003 at the age of 84. "Honest" Bill grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan with his family. He served our country in the Second World War overseas as a Lance Corporal in the army, and wore his many medals proudly for the remainder of his life. Bill worked as an auto technician for most of his life and was known as the best front-end man in the City for many years. After retirement, Bills hobby was building and flying remote control planes, of which he has many, and built each one with perfection, as he did with all the beautiful things he made. Bill was also a talented accordion player and played in bands and at home, for our entertainment, whenever he could. All-in-all, Bill was a brave soldier, and hard worker, a brilliant mechanic, a remote control pilot, a musician and most of all a wonderful, loving husband, loving father and a wise man who didnt hesitate to help anyone who needed him, and who could light up the room with his big smile and great sense of humour. Bill will be missed tremendously by his wife Lilian and daughters, Maria, Sandra, Caroline (Loren), Deborah (Bill) and Lilly (Tom) along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Annie, Vicki, Violet and sisters-in-law, Emily and Mary and their families. He was predeceased by his daughter Linda, parents, Maria and Alexander; sisters, Olga and Maria; brothers, Marvin, John and Walter; and niece Caroline. A special thank you to the nurses at the Grace General Hospital for their kindness and understanding. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division. God be in my head, and in my understanding; God be in mine eyes, and in my looking; God be in my mouth, and in my speaking; God be in my heart, and in my thinking; God be at mine end, and at my departing.
