MARTIN HIRST AINLEY December 31, 1932 - May 19, 2003 After a courageous seven-year battle with cancer, Dad passed peacefully on May 19, 2003. Left to mourn are his children, their spouses and his grandchildren: Chris, Sharon and Tom Ainley; Andy, Leanne, Jennifer, Matthew and Mitchell Ainley; Susan, Odell, Scott and Christopher Tuttle; Dads siblings and their families: Andrew Ainley; Judy, David, Anna (McKeon) and James Hill; the mother of his children, Josephine Adamson; and his many friends around the world. Dads grandchildren will miss the special moments with him: the boat rides on "Saving Grace", homemade popsicles, his presence behind the hockey glass and the stories of his life. Dad will be remembered by all that knew him for his gentle nature, his loyalty, and moral and ethical strength. Special thanks to Richard Ball, Doug and Joan Carter, Doug and Arlene Willis, and Bob and Gail Bailey for their friendship, loyalty and support; and to Dr. R. Nason and Jenny at CancerCare Manitoba; and the medical staff at the HSC Emergency and H3 for the special care he received. Dads second family, the community of St. Johns Ravenscourt School held a large part of Dads heart. He dedicated much of his life and energy to SJR; its staff, students and ideals. His physical presence there, though less obvious in recent years, will be missed by all who knew him. His contributions to the school will be felt by all who join its community. Ace is flying again! In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba or the Martin Ainley Scholarship at St. Johns Ravenscourt School. A memorial service and celebration of Martins life will be at St. Johns Ravenscourt School, 400 South Dr., Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
