ALEXANDER BENDER August 29, 1934 - May 16, 2003 It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden death of Alexander Bender on Friday, May 16, 2003, in Winnipeg, at the age of 68 years. Al is survived by Gail, mother of his son Ross; daughter Reene (Dean) grandchildren, Michael, Amanda and Kristin; brothers, David of Winnipeg, Bill and family of Vancouver, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Amelia; brothers, John, Conrad and Harry; sisters, Kay and Millie. He was raised and resided in the north end of Winnipeg most of his life. Al enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles, playing cribbage and socializing with family and friends Alexs graveside service and interment will be held on Monday, May 26 at 2:30 p.m. in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. Close friends and all family are welcome. Those wishing to attend may gather at the first cemetery entrance gate. A special thank you to the home care staff, David, Andrea and colleagues and to all the medical professionals involved with our fathers (Alexander) care. We would also like to thank Richard Wojcik and his staff as well as the staff at Brookside Cemetery for all their patience and helpfulness.
