JEANETTE BADIOU (KINASH) 1941 - 2003 Following a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by her friends and family, Jeanette Badiou passed away at the age of 62. Jeanette will be sadly missed by husband, Lou; her sons, Donald (Tammy) and Ronald (Victoria) Kinash; stepchildren, Carmen and Lea; mother Florence "Nettie" Samborski; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jennifer Kinash; lifelong friend Judy McNeilly; cousin Doreen Pendgracs; and many other family members and friends. Jeanette was born in Winnipeg at the old Childrens Hospital in Winnipegs north end and lived in Winnipeg much of her life. She worked for Eatons mail order for 12 years at the beginning of her data entry career, followed by 12 years at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and finally Unicity Laboratories where she was employed until her illness. Jeanette loved gardening, country living, wildlife, her pets, and family get togethers. She and husband, Lou, enjoyed 17 years on a beautiful acreage near Birds Hill Provincial Park. Jeanette was predeceased by her sister, Marge (Mary Margaret) Driver in August, 2000, and their stepfather, Mike Samborski, who passed away in May, 1978. Jeanette received the very best of care during the final stage of her life at the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital. Many thanks to Dr. Harlos and the entire staff of Ward 8A, and Fr. Roland Lanoie for his loving care. Funeral service will take place on Monday May 26, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. in Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9.
