Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANGUS McMILLAN October 12, 1920 - May 21, 2003 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Angus McMillan at Selkirk & District General Hospital on May 21, 2003. Angus was born in Winnipeg, MB on October 12, 1920 to Agnes (nee Brotherston) and Dugald McMillan. He moved with his parents to Dugald, MB in 1929 to begin farming. Angus enlisted in the Army in 1942 and was shipped overseas serving with the 17th Field Artillery. After returning home he farmed near Whitemouth, MB. He worked in construction before moving to Selkirk, MB. Angus worked with Public Works Canada from 1964 at the drydock, and shipyard, retiring in 1983. Angus enjoyed his garden and his workshop where he spent many relaxing hours. His many projects and gifts given to family and friends will be treasured. He especially enjoyed the companionship of his cat, Fanny. Angus will be forever loved and missed by his wife Betty; daughter Margaret (Donald Guenther and his children) sister-in-law Marguerite McKay, nephew John (Valerie), niece Betty (Dan) and their families; sister-in-law Ruby McMillan, niece Agnes; very special friends, Marie, Brian, Evan, Ian and Grant Surridge; as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Dugald and William; sister Margaret and brother-in-law Bill McKay. The family gratefully acknowledges the care given by Dr. R. Lindenschmidt and the nursing staff of Selkirk & District General Hospital. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 24 at 11:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home. A private family interment was held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Selkirk Palliative Care Unit, Box 5000, Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
