Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAROSLAV (JERRY) ANDRES July 4, 1920 - April 19, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed and often remembered by his two sons, Cameron (Marion) and David (Wendy) grandchildren, Ashlea and Sasha; sister Millie Karlik; brother Karel; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wives Rose and Anna; sister Amalia Ilavsky; and an infant sister. Jerry was born in Mychalovka, Volyn, Poland and immigrated to the Swan River Valley, MB with his family in 1929. He grew up in the Croppertops District where he initially farmed for a period of time in the 1940s before getting involved in the construction business during which time he worked on numerous projects in Western Canada. A long time resident of both the R.M. and Village of Minitonas; he was active in local politics and served on the Village Council of Minitonas from 1971 to 1983. Upon his retirement to Winnipeg, he served on the board of the Greater Winnipeg Seniors Housing Authority. His last few years were spent in the St. Norbert Personal Care Home in the company of a kind and caring staff. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Knox United Church in Minitonas, MB at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. A private graveside ceremony will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, Mezzanine, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
