MARCY DEMPSEY Marcy Dempsey passed away on May 15, 2003. She was remembered at a service held on May 16, 2003 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Interment followed at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Marcy leaves her treasured husband Neil and her three "jewels" Haley, Jillian and Emma. She is mourned by her mother Maxine Cristall, father Gerald Ratner, sister Sherri (Jeff) Hannah, Zachary and Caleb Ramsay, grandparents Eva and Reuben Cristall, in-laws Glen (Jean) Dempsey, Jane (Jim) Matthew, Kathleen Jacques, Brian (Dianne) and David Dempsey. Also mourning Marcy are her many friends and the hundreds of people with whom she came in contact during her 39 years. Marcys life was one of devotion to family, friends and faith. She was a person who taught all who knew her to love fully, to experience each day with excitement and wonder and to live their lives with integrity. For Marcy, her faith in Judaism and its guiding principles became the foundation of her life. Marcys spirituality and passion was her guide to living, learning and parenting. Her home was a place of joy, love and inspiration for all. Marcy was a woman of great courage and strength. The generosity and support of family and friends throughout her illness was beyond measure. Appreciation is also extended to the caring, compassionate medical personnel who cared for Marcy over the last five years. We would like to acknowledge the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba for their outstanding support. Marcys special relationship with Rabbis Allen Green, Henry Balser and Neil Rose helped guide Marcy through the difficult period of her illness and eased her passing from this life. Their eulogies, along with Judi Shusters heartfelt words and Jillians moving mothers day poem captured Marcys spirit. Those whose lives Marcy touched will never forget her sparkling eyes, her infectious laugh and the warmth of her embrace. She is now a shining star to whom we look to help guide our way through life. If you wish to honour Marcys memory, donations may be made to the Haley, Jillian and Emma Dempsey Fund at the Royal Bank, care of 655 Queenston St., Winnipeg, MB R3N 0X6 or to a charity of your choice.
