DOROTHY EILEEN EARL (nee McINNES) Born December 29, 1922 in Giroux, MB. Passed away peacefully on May 19, 2003 at Jackman Manor, Langley, BC. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 59 years, Bill (William), of Langley, BC, her son John and wife Linda of Ann Arbor, MI, daughter Jayne Burton and husband Steve of Langley, BC, and daughter-in-law Kathy, of Langley, BC. Sadly, Dorothy was predeceased by her youngest son Bill Earl of Langley. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren, David and Andrea Earl, and Courtney and Christian Burton. Dorothy was one of 13 children of John and Mary McInnes of Winnipeg, MB; her only surviving sibling is Gladys Bell (Norman) of Edmonton, AB. Dorothy dedicated her life as a caregiver of others. She became a nurse in her early 20s and worked at St. Boniface Hospital and Grace Hospital in Winnipeg for over 30 years before moving to Langley, BC in 1982. She continued to work in home care with the Langley Home Care Society well into her 70s. She always loved to help others. Our wife, mother and grandmother will be fondly remembered as a loving, kind, and generous woman who always gave to others before herself. She had a wonderful sense of fun and humour which always brightened our days. We will forever miss her laughter. Her family would like to sincerely thank all of the staff, especially the nurses and nursing aids at Country Lane, Jackman Manor of Langley for the wonderful care that you gave her for the last six years. "You truly are angels". A special thanks to Dr. Wolchok of Langley, BC for his care of Dorothy and support to her family. A memorial in celebration of Dorothys life will be held at Newlands Country Club, 21025 - 46th Avenue, Langley, at 11:00 a.m. on June 7. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia would be greatly appreciated. "Those we have truly loved will never be gone They live on forever deep in our hearts"
