CAROL LYNN HENDERSON (nee COLOMY) It is with sadness we announce, after a long courageous battle with cancer, the passing of Carol, surrounded by her family and friends on May 22, 2003, at the age of 48. Carol was born on August 8, 1954. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Alexina Colomy, her niece, Nicole Colomy, and her brother Randy Colomy. Her memory will forever by cherished by her loving husband, Craig, brothers, Ron (Sally), Rick; sister Vivian; nephews, Scott, Tyler, Darren, David, Cory (Heather) nieces, Sherri (Jason), Laura (Patrick), Ashley, Chelsea; great-nephew Nathan; great-nieces, Nicole, Cassie and Marissa; mother-in-law Eldeen Henderson; sister-in-law Laurie (Hans). Carol was employed at Revenue Canada, until her illness forced her to retire. Carol loved travelling and spent many happy hours in France and Spain with her sister across the pond, Laurie, and many friends there. She loved gardening and planting lots of flowers, especially Pansies. Eldeen who was like Carols second mother, was always there, driving her to treatments and providing love and support, and making special cookies. She will be sadly missed by her protector and companion, Reno, her dog. They spent many hours of unconditional love and comfort together. At Carols Friday cocktail at Cancer Care, she was able to sway almost everyone to start watching Coronation Street. The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital for all their kind attention and excellent care. Also special thanks to Dr. Loren Brandes and all at Cancer Care Manitoba. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carols name to the charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Many years have passed and there is not a day that goes by that I think of you. You came into my life when we worked out at the gym and that friendship got stronger. You were like the sister I did not have. We could tell each other things and they stayed with us till this day. It was a sad day when I was told you left us. I put a tattoo on my leg of a pansy and when I think of you I rub it and talk to you. I know you are not suffering anymore and that is good. Your memories will be with all that you knew. You were so loved by so many people. I do hope that the family and Craig are doing well today. And I know you are still watching Coronation Street. Miss you my little one.
