MARGARET LUCILLE LONGBOTTOM November 30, 1935- May 22, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom, Margaret Longbottom, at the tender age of 67, on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at the Selkirk General Hospital with her daughters and her family at her side. Left to cherish her memory are her five daughters, Gail Monkman (Cristina), Lorraine Bitchok (John), Dorothy Sinclair, Eileen Monkman and Corinne Harmer; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing are her brothers, George (Scotty), Alex (Laverne), Eddie (Doods) sister-in-law Mabel; and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents George and Christina; brother Jim; sister in infancy; and sister-in-law Win. Prayers and viewing will be held on Monday (tonight), May 26 at 7:00 p.m. and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27 at 11:00 a.m., both in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. We, her daughters, would like to especially thank Moms extended family and community of friends who visited her often and offered their support in many ways, as we all struggled to come to terms with her illness. We would also like to thank the home care attendants who helped us to keep Mom at home during the majority of her illness. We also appreciate the quality care that our mom received during her short stay at the Selkirk General Hospital, under the excellent guidance of Dr. H. Demsas and the nursing staff that she herself was once a part of for some 20 years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Selkirk General Hospital, Palliative Care. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
