CARLOTTA MARTON (nee KARBA) Peacefully with her daughter by her side, Wednesday May 21, 2003 saw the passing of a loving wife, mother and grandmother following a battle with heart disease. Predeceased by her parents, brother and Niece Zsuzsa. Carlotta is lovingly remembered by husband Imre (Jim) daughter Anna Kovacs; and by her grandchildren, Melissa Kovacs and Christopher Marton (Kovacs); and countless number of people that she met throughout her life. Carlotta was born in a village near Tihany, Hungary on May 12, 1930. The family immigrated to Canada after the Hungarian Revolution arriving in Winnipeg in 1957. She was a passionate woman, who loved children and mothered many at her in-home day care. She enjoyed animals, having many special pets. Carlotta had a great gift of hospitality and would make anyone feel welcome. She enjoyed cooking and baking and everyone who sat at her table was blessed by her special talent. Her favourite pastimes were needle point, reading and following current events - especially politics. The last few years her strength began to waver, but being a strong willed woman, she made every attempt to care for others as best she could. Carlotta was a vibrant woman with loving eyes and a warm heart. She had a strong faith and loved Jesus. We are at peace with the knowledge that she is in His presence today. Thanks to all the medical staff at Concordia Hospital 3 West for their care of Carlotta and our family throughout her brief illness. There will be a celebration of Carlottas life at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 26 at Transcona Funeral Chapel 1800 Day St., Winnipeg, MB. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. "Edes Anyam, a csokodert oda-adnam a vilagot."
