Sheila lived her life in the Elmwood-East Kildonan area maintaining lifelong friendships with many people in the community. She had a strong faith which she practiced at various congregations including Gordon United, Gordon-King Memorial United and most recently Immanuel United. Along with dedication to family and friends, her other great pride was the cottage at Victoria Beach "Three Belles and A Buoy". She spent many happy summer days on Patricia Beach with her children, grandchildren and family dogs. Sheila was a very active lady until the end of her life, swimming regularly, playing cards and games. She excelled at Scrabble in which she was the undisputed family champion. She retired from the Hudson Bay Credit Department in 1987 and enjoyed her golden years. Memberships included Winnipeg Masters Swim Club, Sons of Scotland, Mothers Club of Gordon United, EK-YMCA and Friends of Sherbrook Pool. Sheila travelled extensively, earlier with George, and later with friend Dode. She fulfilled her lifetime dream with a visit to New Zealand and Australia with her son Brian. We will all miss her generosity, kindness, great sense of humour and her positive outlook on life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of ones choice.
