MARGUERITE (MARGO) WOLKENSTEIN (nee RICARD) Peacefully, early on Sunday, May 25, 2003 Margo passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home. She leaves her beloved husband, Christopher of 49 years; and three children: Carl, (fiancee Claire), Anne (Gerry) and grandson Aaron; Franz, (fiancee Donna) sisters, Roberte in Montreal and Sister Marie Celine OSB, Joliette, QC. She was predeceased by her brother Jean Paul and sister Therese. Margo was born on June 27, 1923 in St. Alexis, QC. She was educated in Joliette and received her nursing degree from Notre Dame Hospital. She worked in New York where she met her future husband. Margo married Chris on August 21, 1954 in Montreal then moved to Winnipeg where the children were born and raised. She was a long-time member of St. John Brebeuf Parish and more recently St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church. Margo was a gentle and quiet, devoted wife, mother and grandmother who also cherished her friends. Throughout her numerous strokes this courageous woman never complained and continued to be a beacon of love for us all. On Wednesday, May 28 at 10:00 a.m. a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier, with Brother Jorge Villegas OFM Cap. officiating. A special thanks to all the compassionate staff on 2A at Holy Family Nursing Home as well as all her devoted friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. We cannot see her, but she is with us still. A wife and mother like ours is more than a memory. She is a living presence. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

  • God is Love. That message shined through to our family from our dear mother and we remember her warmly now. Her husband, Chris, passed on 8 1/2 years later and they are together now and that is a comfort. - Posted by: Anne Wolkenstein-Geall (Daughter) on: Jan 27, 2012
