VIOLET ELLEN McCOY (nee FORBISTER) It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Violet on May 25, 2003. Vi was born on July 6, 1921 at Lundar, MB. She was predeceased by her husband David McCoy; her parents, Gordon and Julie Forbister; and her brother Ernie. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are her children, Joan, Shirley and Daniel. Also, grandchildren, Daniel, Kevin, Darren, Shannon, Patricia, Trevor, Andrea and Melanie. Mom is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jared, Austin, Emma, Cody, Justin, Dana, Kirk and twins, Sara and Bradley. Vi spent many years working for the T. Eaton Co., American Jewellers and the City of Winnipeg, Pan Am Pool. She especially enjoyed the company of her many friends, family and dear pets. She spent many happy hours playing cards and bingo. Vi will be greatly missed. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A private interment will be held in the family niche at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks are extended to the staff of the Convalescent Home for their loving care and support to Vi and her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Vi to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9.
