MRS. AUDREY MERRITT Mrs. Audrey Merritt passed away at the age of 76 years Sunday evening May 25, 2003, of natural causes, at Concordia Hospital. Audrey was predeceased by husband Kenneth in 1980 and mother Mrs. Lydia Gillert in 1998 and father Harry Fitchett in 1966. Audrey is survived by sons, Wade (Roberta), Darryl (Debbie) granddaughter Erin (Dan) grandson Scott (Trish) two great-grandsons, Darryl and Clayton; sisters, Elsie Moisey, Myrtle Redwood, Patricia Flaws (William) brothers, Ernie, Norman Gillert (Vera), and William Fitchett (Myrna) wishful son Denis; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg, Audreys early years were spent in Moosehorn, MB. The family returned to Winnipeg in 1936 where Audrey worked for the T. Eaton Company. After leaving to marry and raise a family, she later returned to work for Winnipeg Linen Supply, Ray-o-Vac Canada and the Health Sciences Centre, retiring in 1982. Audrey was more than a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a true friend and guide to all. Audrey will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. All attending the graveside service are to meet at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. A reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 910 Nairn Ave., at 3:00 p.m., following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
