Eugenie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kasimir; daughter Jeanette Warga (Alex) sons, Eugene (Diane) and Felix. She was predeceased by grandson Yaron Bileski; parents, John and Pauline Negrych; four brothers and four sisters. Eugenie was born on the family homestead near Verigin, SK, one of 12 children of John and Pauline Negrych. She received her early education at local schools and at age 14 met her future husband, Kasimir, at a local barn dance. They corresponded for many years. At 16 Eugenie went to Montreal to work and to study at business school. In 1934 at age 18, Eugenie sailed for London, England to marry Kasimir, who had moved there to set up a stamp business in 1931. They worked together on their business until 1937 when they and baby daughter moved back to Canada and settled in Winnipeg, where two sons were born. Despite suffering many years of ill health, Eugenie was a partner in the family business, becoming an expert on various aspects of stamp collecting until she retired at age 75. She enjoyed many activities: the ballet, symphonies, sports such as curling, bowling and especially golf. Her needlework, knitting and crocheting, are exquisite and she won many awards for her handiwork. Travel was also a big part of Eugenies life, both for business and pleasure. Many thanks to the staff of Kildonan Personal Care Home for the care that they have given to Eugenie for the past two years. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery.
