WALTER STEPHEN CHIMILAR Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on May 26, 2003 at Concordia Hospital, Walter Chimilar passed away at the age of 75 years. Walter will be sadly missed by his loving wife Doris of 55 years; children, Warren (Vivian), Murray (Linda Kisil), Larry (Lorene) and Brenda (Jim) Loewen; grandchildren, Kelly (Tannis), Kristi (Jason), Carrie (Rob), Derek and Matthew; great-grandson Callin; step-grandchildren, Darryl, Sandra (Joel), Ryan, Ashley, Mathew, Carla and Adam (Angie), and three step great-grandsons, Joshua, Lucas and Noah. He will also be sadly missed by his special long-time friends, Louise "Red" and Bill Dawyduk. Walter was predeceased by his parents Joe and Bernice; brother Peter; sister Olga and daughter-in-law Donna. Walter moved from Teulon to Winnipeg when he was 18 years old. He married his wife Doris on May 8, 1948, and then worked at Security Storage for approximately four years. Walter worked as a Patrol Sergeant for the City of East Kildonan Police for 15 years, resigning in 1967. He then joined the City of Winnipeg Park Police as a Special Constable until his retirement in 1992. Special thank you to the 3rd floor nurses, aids and staff of Concordia Hospital for their care and support. A private family service will take place on Thursday, May 29.
