FREDA JESSIE GOUTHRO (nee MARTIN) Freda Jessie Gouthro passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, aged 72 years. Beloved wife of Chuck of Anola, cherished mother of Steve and Cecile (Ian and Joanne), John and Rose Mary (Will, Jess, Ben and Dan) of Melbourne, Australia, Liza of Toronto, ON, Dan and Bonnie, Tony (Sara, Jesse and Katie), Cindy and Dean (Jenna and Liza) and Carmela and John (Heather and Daryl). Freda always delighted in family gatherings with all her children and grandchildren gathered around her and that is how she peacefully passed away. Freda was also survived by sisters, Dorothy of Newmarket, ON and Margaret and Paul Gettas of Guelph, ON; sisters-in-law, Clare and John (Beppo) Loro; Florence Langer; and brother-in-law Melvin and Mary Gouthro all of Nova Scotia; cousin Mary Rodger of Toronto, ON; and numerous nieces and nephews. Freda and Chuck, a member of the Armed Forces, 3 RCHA Regiment, travelled across Canada, over to Germany and back, finally making their home in Winnipeg. Special thanks to the exceptional care given by the staff at St. Boniface General Hospital, and in particular the doctors and nurses of 7A West and the MICU. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. A Memorial Service to celebrate and honour Freda, will be held on Friday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens and Funeral Chapel.
