FRANK KLEMCHUK It is with deep regret that we announce the accidental death of Frank Klemchuk on Monday, May 26, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre. Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife Rosanne in May 2000. Frank is survived by sons, Joel (Karen) and Robert (Laura) daughter Barbara Colvin (Dave) grandchildren, Scott, Brett, David Andrea and Maria; as well as treasured companion Gail; numerous relatives and friends. Dad was born and raised in the Point Douglas area of Winnipeg where he formed many lifelong friendships. He married Rosanne in 1954 and raised his family in the Windsor Park area. Frank served proudly in the Winnipeg Police Department for 33 years before retiring as Staff Sergeant in District 4. Among his proudest moments in life were taking part in and attending his grandchildrens sports activities, school bands and plays. Dad was a consummate craftsman and self taught mechanic, proficient in wood and metal working. Many people were recipients of his expert craftwork from a man his grandchildren professed to be able to fix anything. Family and friends knew Frank to be indisposed on Sundays, when Nascar or any auto race was featured on television. Dad will be remembered by all who knew him for his gentle nature, his loyalty and his moral and ethical strength. In later years, Frank enjoyed the camaraderie of the Tuesday morning breakfasts and became and active member with a group of Oak Bank seniors, travelling and attending social functions. Everyone who knew Frank can consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. We would like to thank firstly and foremost Herb Chalmers for his compassion and guidance, The Gold Trauma Team, Dr. Assuras, Dr. Giannouli and Dr. Nick as well as the Intensive Care nurses. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 and Firefighters Burn Fund Inc., 202 - 666 St. James St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3J7.
