DR. JOHN THOMAS DOYLE Surrounded by his loving family Dr. John Thomas Doyle passed away in his sleep at his home, at the age of 84 years on Wednesday, May 28, 2003. He is survived by his cherished wife Lillian (Copper) Doyle; and his children, Maura, Patricia, Shannon, and partners; and his only granddaughter Siobhan; his twin sister Grace and husband Billy Crockett; his older sister Betty Doyle; and his trusted companion "Queenie", his West Highland terrier. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his strength, his generosity, compassion, and his terrific sense of humour. Dr. J. T. Doyle (Tom) was a Second World War Veteran. He served proudly for his country as a Captain and received among other metals, the 1939 - 1945 STAR. During his time in war, he met his loving bride Lillian in London, England and was her passionate partner for 59 years. After the war, he graduated from the University of Guelph in 1949 as a Veterinarian and worked with the federal government until 1984 when he retired. Dr. T. J. Doyle loved animals and had a great passion for the outdoors. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with Fr. Fred Olds officiating. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
