Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER Z. KULCHYSKI On Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at the Betel Home in Selkirk, Walter Kulchyski, aged 82 years, passed away. Walter was predeceased by his wife Rose in February of this year. He is survived by his children, Virginia (Alfred) Coumont, Lois (Brian) Moffatt, Brian (Shirley) Lamb, Bill (Lorraine) Lamb and Pat (Mickey) Wur; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his brother Frank (Mary) Kulchyski; sisters-in-law, Pearl Mazur, Tillie Mazepa, Mary Rudnicki, Olga Charney; and his brother-in-law Nick Malegus. Dad was born in Rossdale, MB on June 1, 1920 and lived there until June of 1941 when he left for Port Arthur to enlist in the Army. He was sent overseas (Continental Europe) as a communication linesman and served our country until the end of the war, being discharged in Winnipeg in December of 1945. Dad was employed with the Manitoba Rolling Mills for 31 years, retiring in 1982. Also during that time he was a grain farmer in Cloverdale until moving to Selkirk in 1963. He was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Selkirk Branch No. 42 for over 50 years, creating many lasting friendships. Dad loved to travel but loved Grand Beach the most where many good times were had with his family. He also loved to go to different casinos, always trying his luck. Dad also had a passion for old cars, sports, reading and being current with todays news, but his main love was his family. Always making sure everyone was doing alright, and lending a hand whenever needed or a shoulder to lean on. Dad will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, may he rest in peace knowing all the love, compassion and wisdom he has passed on to all of us will live forever in our hearts. Prayers will be said on Friday, May 30 (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, MB, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Demsas and the wonderful staff at the Betel Home for all their care and compassion shown to Walter.
