Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MITCHELL MILLOY November 29, 1909- May 27, 2003 John Mitchell Milloy passed away at St. Norbert Nursing Home at the age of 93. John was predeceased by his first wife of 14 years Edrie Milloy (Hart) second wife of 29 and one half years Gretchen Milloy (Hampton) brother William; brother-in-law Gordon Hampton; and step-son Donald Scott. John is survived by his step-daughter Shirley Dupuis (Eugene) granddaughter Debbie Dryden (Ken) great-grandsons, Scott and Johnathan, grandson Keith Dupuis (Chris), great-grandchildren, Amanda and Neil; granddaughter Michele Dupuis and friend Stuart. Step-daughter Darlene Scott, granddaughter Cheryl Onyshko, great-grandsons, Ryan and Avery and granddaughter Shelley Scott. Step-daughter-in-law Florence Scott; grandson Michael Scott (Sandy) great-granddaughters, Jackie, Jennifer, and Ashley; grandson David Scott; granddaughter Lynne Fisher (Dave) great-grandchildren, Corey, Sara, Dallas, Janae; grandson Rob Scott and friend Maxine and granddaughter Lori Gray (Matt). Sister-in-law Rusty Major; nephew Morris Milloy and niece June Joubert and family. Sister-in-law Irene Walker (Jack), sister-in-law Grace Hampton and numerous nieces and nephews. John was born in Lloydminster, AB and grew up in Edmonton. He served in the Air Force in the Second World War where he was stationed in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. After the war he settled on the outskirts of Abbotsford, BC where he had a dairy farm. He sold the farm and kept 15 acres where he lived in his home and rented the rest to market gardeners. He married Gretchen in 1973. In 1992 he sold the farm and moved into the city of Abbotsford. After suffering a stroke he was moved to Winnipeg in December, 2000 (St. Norbert Nursing Home) to be near Gretchen and family. John was an avid golfer and curler and was still active into his 90s. He also loved to play pool. He loved music and at one time was a member of a musical theatre group. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and also lifetime member of the Aldergrove Elks Lodge No. 66 for over 50 years where he held numerous executive positions and was also District Deputy. Our sincere thanks for the care and comfort given to John by the staff of the St. Norbert Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Dr. with Rev. Dr. Sharon Wilson officiating.
