Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROYSTON RAYMOND SPRINGETT With sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Royston Raymond Springett at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on May 27, 2003. He is survived by his five children, Richard (Lynn), Deborah Springett-Frymire (Tim), Bonnie Emond, Robert (Karen) and Barbie Carriere; 16 grandchildren; sister Hazel Johnston (Frank) brother-in-law Bruce Johnson (Sally) and numerous nieces and nephews. Royston was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverley (Johnson) July 12, 2002; his son-in-law Robert, January 16, 2002; his parents Robina and Raymond; sister Ann Francis (Porter) brothers Ronald, Rodney; and nephew Raymond. Roysten was born on November 8, 1928 and was raised in Winnipeg at 409 Arnold Avenue. He attended Lord Roberts and Kelvin High School. For 46 years Roy was a loyal employee of the United Grain Growers. Roy and Bev were married August 25, 1979. They resided in Winnipeg until Roys retirement in 1988 and then settled in Kenora. Roy was a well known and gifted Piper. As a young boy "Tooke" joined the Cameron Cadets Pipe Band and later moved to the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders where he became Pipe Major. Royston piped for Queen Elizabeth II and was proud to be known as the "Queens Piper". After retiring from the Camerons, Roy piped with the Winnipeg Pipers and Drum and the Kenora Pipe Band. The family wishes to thank the staff on 2nd East at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their wonderful care and to the many friends who supported Dad during the past year. The funeral service will take place Saturday, May 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Luncheon to follow at the Kenora Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation, CT Scan Fund, 21 Sylvan Street, Kenora, ON, P9N 3W7 or the Canadian Diabetic Association, 15 Toronto St., Suite 800, Toronto, ON, M5C 3E3 would be appreciated. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre entrusted with arrangements. "Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now Im found was blind but now I see."
