VALERIE GAIL WHITFORD (nee HUTCHINSON) May 30, 1936 - May 15, 2003 After a lengthy illness, Valerie Whitford passed away at the Grace Hospital with her family by her side on May 15, 2003. She leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved husband of 36 years of marriage, Dale; her four children, Lawrence, Scott, Michelle and "adopted" son Brian; her daughters-in-law, Cindy and Denise; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as her good friend Peggy Ash. Valerie worked for the Hudson Bay Company for over 25 years before taking a disability leave in 1992. She spent the last few years at home with the help of homecare. The family would like to thank Drs. S. Homik and Goodin, and the doctors and nursing staff at the Grace General Hospital. A special thank you to ICU nurse, John and the Manitoba Homecare Program workers, Cherryl and Eileen and all the V.O.N.s who made life easier for Valerie and her family; it is greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Valeries memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 2nd Floor, 629 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg R3A 1P6. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements 775-2220.
