SHIRLEY ESTHER BARSKY After a brief illness, Shirley passed away on May 29, 2003 at the Victoria General Hospital. Shirley was born on May 27, 1931 in Halifax, NS. Her parents Samuel and Bessie Rosenfeld, as well as her older brother Mendel predeceased her. Shirley moved to Winnipeg in 1949 when she later met her husband Dr. Percy Barsky and was married on May 20, 1956. Together they enjoyed 33 wonderful years in which they were totally devoted to each other. Moms zest for life was embraced and appreciated by all who knew her. She loved being out and about, to travel and was totally devoted to family and friends. Shirley is survived by her children Ronald (Mara) Barsky, and Mindy (James) Barsky-Veitch. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Rebecca, Sara, Peyton and Ellyse as well as her in-laws Shirley Rosenfeld, Harry and Laila Silverberg, Naiomi and Rueben Hashman and Mary Veitch. Services were held on May 30, 2003 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue with Rabbi Alan Green and Cantor Annibal Maas officiating. Pallbearers were Leonard Rosenfeld, Larry Cohen, Alan Nepon, Sean Moglove, Marty Gurvey and Grant Zipursky. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St.
