Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN "HOWARD" (HOWIE) BRITTEN 1915 - 2003 John "Howard" (Howie) Britten of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 in the care of his loving daughter Pam, at the age of 88 years. Howard was born on May 28, 1915 in Port Arthur, ON where he was raised and educated. In 1963 he moved with his family to Calgary. After spending 12 years in Winnipeg, he returned to Calgary in 1979 to retire. Howard worked for Canadian Westinghouse for many years. He was a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Calgary South. Howard was very active enjoying many activities in the outdoors including fishing, boating, swimming, and cycling. Howard is survived by three daughters and two sons-in law, Diane Walker, Barb and Norman Myden, and Pam and Dave Rogers, all of Calgary; seven grandchildren, Jason and Lisa Walker, Garet (Michelle), Curtis (Lisa), and Steven Myden, and Sean and Evan Rogers. Howard was predeceased by his beloved wife Priscilla in 1992 and son-in-law Jim Walker in 2000. A celebration of Howards Life will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 703 Heritage Dr. SW, on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Peter Coutts officiating.
