Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED CHERCOE It is with great sadness we announce, after a courageous battle with cancer, the passing of our mother, granny and great-granny, Mildred Chercoe, aged 79 years, late of Transcona and formerly of Selkirk, on May 30, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Mildred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters, Lynn Blakey and Peggy Durie-Waters (Odis) her nine grandchildren, Daryl Campbell (Corrinne), Darrin Durie, Coreen Driscoll (Tom), Ginger Leochko (Terry), Brent Blakey (Jazzie), Gidget Zarichney, Debrah Zarichney (Rick), Randy Zarichney and Dion Zarichney; and her 16 great-grandchildren. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Nick Chercoe, her son Robert Zarichney and her little grandson Stacey Durie-Waters. She was one of 12 children and is survived by two sisters, Betty Zarichney (Pete) and Eleanor Bridges; one brother Robert Hampson and many nieces and nephews. Mildred was born in Selkirk on November 9, 1923 and had lived most of her life there. She was a quiet and private lady who enjoyed the simple things in life, her flowers in the spring and summer, listening to the birds, her bus rides into Winnipeg to visit with her family, her early morning bike rides, and taking her dog, Muppin for walks. She was a very caring and loving Mom and Granny. A family graveside service was held on Monday, June 2 at St. Clements Cemetery, Selkirk with Rev. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
