J. ANTOINE (TONY) PLANTE July 5, 1932 - May 29, 2003 With deep sadness the family of Tony Plante announces his passing on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, at the age of 70 years. Tony is survived by his wife Dale; son Borys, daughter-in-law Sally of Winnipeg; daughter Theresa, son-in-law Phil of Squamish; grandchildren, Dustin, Angie, Jesse, Renee and Ethan; siblings, Paul, Jean Marie, Francoise, Gerard of Quebec; mother-in-law Margaret of Victoria; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his mother Georgiana; father Joseph; and siblings, Albert, Marie-Paul, Marie Rose, Anne Marie, Benoit, Alfred, and Therese. Born in St. Redempteur, QC, Tony spent several years in the R.C.A.F., then Northwest Industries, Edmonton, and CAE Aircraft, Winnipeg. In 1978 he joined New Flyer Industries, Winnipeg, retiring after 20 years service. He was easily approached, a careful listener and non-judgemental; he was generous with his time and talents, with a quick sense of humour and a curiosity for many things. Always enjoying the outdoors, Tony liked fishing, skiing, photography, and of course golf. The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their gentle care. In lieu of flowers, and as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice in Tonys name.
Tonys funeral service was held on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897-4665
