EMMA JANE BEAR The family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Emma Jane Bear, of Lake St. Martin First Nation on May 28, 2003 at the age of 53 years. Emma was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children, Darren, Everett (Shauna Catcheway), Flora and Crystal (Stacy McKay) special grandson Dakota, grandchildren, Wyonna, Walter, Amanda, Leonna, Matthew and Freedom, Russell Sumner. Emma leaves to mourn her brothers, Elmer Traverse (Sylvia), Gordon Traverse (Betty), Norman Traverse (Winnie) and John Traverse; sisters, Rosemary Forbes (Robert), Dorothy Anderson (Walter), Linda Prince (Clements) and Lillian Ross (Peter) sister-in-law Elizabeth Traverse; also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; aunts, Evangeline Traverse, Bertha Sumner, Edith Gagen and Maggie Ross; uncles, Jake Traverse, Mark Traverse and Willie Marsden. Emma was predeceased by her sons, Isaac and Zacheus; grandson Darryll; father David Traverse (1994) sister Yvonne Traverse (1989) brothers, George Traverse (1999) and Glen Traverse (2001) and an infant sister (1939). Emma enjoyed her family, taking special care of her grandchildren. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Emma had a good sense of humour and was very caring and loving to all people she had known, developing special friendships. Emma strived for her family to stay together and to have a loving home environment. A wake service will be held on Sunday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Lake St. Martin Pentecostal Church with Asst. Pastor Betty Traverse and Jim Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Lake St. Martin Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to: ANDERSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Ashern, Manitoba 1-204-768-3606

  • I think of you often. I remember all the good laughs we shared on so many occasions. You were such an intelligent woman who only wanted the best for your children and grandchildren. You were such a loving grandmother for Dakota. I remember how proud you were with his great work in school. I'm glad I you were in my life and knew my children.
