ANNE JAWORSKI It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Riverview Health Centre. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Bernice (William) Solypa; sons, Ronald (Eleanor), Robert (Jeanine), Charles (Lynn) grandsons, Brian, Bradley, Wayne and David; granddaughter Beverley; great-grand-children, Kevin, Mark, Laura and Joseph. Her memory will also be cherished by her brother Alex Hykawy, sister Kay Grabowski and members of her extended family and close friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband Michael on October 14, 1994; by her parents, Tom and Pauline Hykawy; brothers, Bill, Steve, Henry; and sister Mary. Mom was born on November 22, 1911 on a farm in the Gimli area. She attended a one-room school called Dnister. She was married very early in her life. She spent many years working on the farm with her husband in the Willow Creek school area which is about four miles west of Gimli. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, turkeys and various farm animals. She worked very hard to make some money to feed the family and pay the bills. In 1950 the family sold the farm and moved to Winnipeg. In Winnipeg they purchased a rooming house. Subsequently, they purchased a hairdressing and barbershop in the St. Vital area. In 1960 they moved to Hazeldell Avenue in East Kildonan where her husband continued with his barbering. In 1992 she moved with her husband to the Holy Family Seniors Tower and in 1994 she joined her husband as a resident at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre until September of 2002. Mom was a caring and hardworking person who treasured her family, home, flower and vegetable garden and her many trips to Hawaii. She will be dearly missed by her immediate family members for her encouragement, guidance and motherly care. The family wishes to thank the health care providers at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, the nursing and medical staff at Concordia Hospital, and special thanks to Dr. M. Shane and the nursing and support staff on the third floor of Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate and loving care during the many weeks that Mom was there. Since November 2002, Mom was a resident at the Riverview Health Centre. The family wishes to convey special thanks to all the staff members at Riverview Health Centre for their loving care and unfailing support to the family. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 4 at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave., with Rev. Mark Gnutel and her nephew Msgr. Stan Jaworski officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. God saw you getting weary, When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, Come to Me. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, A part of us went with you, The day God called you home. We will always love and miss you. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
