MARGUERITE MARTHE McGOWAN (nee MASSINON) It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother Marguerite McGowan on May 31, 2003 at the age of 90 years. Mom was born on June 12, 1912 in Bruxelles, MB. She moved to Aubigny with her parents at an early age where she received her education. She married Pierre Hebert in 1933 and together raised nine children. They moved to Haywood, MB in 1948 where they farmed until Dads death in 1956. Mom then moved to Winnipeg. She is predeceased by her parents, Victor and Elsie Massinon; brothers, Camille, Maurice; sisters, Rosa, Martha, Helen, Esther, Regina; husbands, Pierre Hebert, William McGhie, Howard McGowan; sons, Roger and Jean Louis Hebert; daughter, Juliette Westra; sons-in-law, Joseph Moquin, Octave Leclaire; stepson Andre and wife Dorothy Hebert; stepdaughter-in-law Diane Hebert. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Hermine Moquin and friend (Joseph), Maurice (Audrey) Hebert, Yvette Leclaire, Simone (Abe) Elias, Madeleine (John) Marinic, Diane (William) Johnson; daughters-in-law, Ruby and Irene Hebert; son-in-law Anno Westra; two stepsons, Paul and Antoine (Lena) Hebert; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Many thanks to the staff of St. Josephs Residence for the care and friendship that was extended to Mom. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital ICU and Palliative Care for making our mothers last days as comfortable as possible. If friends so desire, a donation may be made in her memory to St. Josephs Residence, 1149 Leila Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2P 1S6 or a charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Martin Moquin, John Hebert, David Hebert, Raymond Leclaire, Kerry Elias, Peter Marinic. Honorary pallbearers are Ritchie Hebert, Michael Westra, Christopher Johnson. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Msgr. M. Comeault at the St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. on Wednesday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. Prayer service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. following the mass. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
