WILMA M. STEWART (nee KEENAN) September 13, 1920 - May 31, 2003 On Saturday, May 31, 2003 Wilma, beloved widow of Alex (also known as "Stew") left us peacefully at the age of 82. Wilma is survived by her loving children, Scott Stewart (wife Irene), Alix Smith (husband Graham), Alison Riddolls (husband Raymond) grandchildren, Alexis and Morgan Stewart, Jason and Taylor Smith, Drew, Brooke and Quinn Riddolls. She will be sorely missed by her sisters, Mildred Joel, Geraldine Argue, Eileen Banville and Alma Keenan. She was predeceased by her brother, Burr Keenan. Wilma was born in Winnipeg, raised in Fort Rouge, attended Kelvin High and raised her family in East Kildonan. Wilma and Stew loved their house on the Red River, barbecuing year round, including their ritual Friday Steak Night. Mom loved Bridge Club, doing her crosswords, sewing and knitting for her kids and grandkids and shopping, shopping, shopping. She loved Stew so much! Their relationship has been such an inspiration to us, her children. We know they are in each others arms again. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 4 at 11:30 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at the Convalescent Home for all their love and care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo St. N., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2N6 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
