KATHERINE DEPUTAT (JAMBORKO) 1919 - 2003 It is with deep sadness that the family of Katherine Deputat wishes to announce her passing. Peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2003, with her family at her side, Katherine slipped quietly away from us and joined with the Lord in eternal peace. Katherine was born July 18, 1919 in Nemyriv, W. Ukraine to Michael and Paraskevia Jamborko. She was one of nine children in this hard-working farming family. Enduring many hardships and life experiences, Katherine eventually came to Canada in 1948 where she met and married Michael Deputat two years later. Katherine and Michael worked hard and raised a family together. Katherine was deeply religious and took a very early and active role in the community of the Cathedral of Sts. Vladimir and Olga parish, especially the Womens League. She committed many hours of community and volunteer work with the League. Katherine leaves to mourn her husband Michael of 52 years, son Walter (Nancy), daughter Olga (Ivan), her only grandson Michael, her brother Ivan Jamborko (Winnipeg), sister Eva Bezkorovalne (Ukraine), and numerous nieces and nephews in Ukraine. The family wishes to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, Units 5 and 3, with special thanks to nurses Joanne and Marlene for helping Mom pass with dignity. Thanks to Rev. Nestor Yakiwchuk for administering her final sacrament, Rev. Michael Kouts and Rev. Deacon Michael Woroby for their prayers and support. Katherine will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family, her kind and caring nature and her sense of humour. She rarely complained, her life was one of serving others. Panahyda will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, also at the Cathedral.
