MARY GOSHULAK Peacefully, on Sunday, June 1, 2003, our mother, Mary Goshulak, aged 90 years, passed away at St. Josephs Residence. Mother was predeceased by her beloved husband Wasyl; sister Barbara; brothers, Roman, Nicholas, Michael, and Metro; sons-in-law, Edward and Mathew. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Helen Schentag, Rose (Len) Kozak, and Sophie Manulak; also her son Walter Goshulak and granddaughters, Kimberly (Anousch) Mathew, and Jennifer and Julie Kozak. Mother was born in Permyliw, Ternopil, W. Ukraine on October 29, 1912. She lost both parents at the tender age of six, but with the help of family members, she immigrated to Canada in 1928, where she met and married her husband Wasyl. In 1932, they settled and farmed in the community of Lorette. They retired to Winnipeg in 1966, where they attended St, Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, and where she was an active member of the Apostleship of Prayer until her health failed her. Mother enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and the visits by her children, relatives and friends. She will always be fondly remembered for her dedication to her family, her gentle and caring nature and her deep faith in God. A special thank you to Dr. T. Babick, to all the staff at St. Josephs Residence and Vincent Kaskiw of Pastoral Care who provided wonderful care and support to mother. Also thank you to Fr. Christopher Zajac, o.s.b.m. for his regular visits. Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Panakhyda Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5 in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. also in the church, with a Basilian priest presiding. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Leonard Kozak, Bohdan Burak, Richard Herrera, Bill Romaniuk, Anousch Mathew, and Joe Sacco. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in mothers memory to the St. Nicholas Maintenance/Preservation Fund or to a charity of ones choice. We will miss you Mom and Baba Vichnaya Pamyat!
