ROLLAND CECIL MacMILLAN On Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the Grace Hospital, Rolland Cecil MacMillan passed away at the age of 90 years, beloved husband of Rita MacMillan of Marquette, MB. Surviving besides his loving wife Rita; seven children, Leonie (John) Senecal, Ron (Midge) MacMillan, Gerald (Dianne) MacMillan, Lynne (Ken) Smith, Mark (Murielle) MacMillan, Laurie (Ron) Olver, Michael MacMillan; survived also by 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Morris, Archie, Kenny and Neil; one sister Christine Bowman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rolland was predeceased by his parents, Neil Sr. and Eleanor; and three sisters, Muriel, Amy and Elsie. Also predeceased by his stepmother Gladys MacMillan and grandchild Ryan MacMillan. Rolland was born on September 8, 1912 at Poplar Heights, MB and received his education there. He married Rita Laramee on October 6, 1943 and farmed in the Marquette area all of his life. Rolland enjoyed chopping wood, shovelling gravel, fishing and was an avid wrestling fan. His family was his life and he took great pleasure in spending time with them doing all he could for them. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. Bev Ward will officiate with interment to follow in Meadow Lea Cemetery.
