DOUG JOYCE February 12, 1917 - June 3, 2003 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Doug Joyce announces his passing on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Vista Park Lodge. Doug will be missed by his wife Noreen; daughter Shelley; grand children, Bradley and Shannon Haacke. He also leaves one brother Herb and wife Bea, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mabel; his brothers, Tom, Fred, Ed; and one grandson Aubrey. Doug was born in West Kildonan on February 12, 1917. In 1925, Doug moved to Giroux with his family. Doug married Noreen Podjan in 1945 where they farmed in Giroux until 1957, which then they moved to Winnipeg where they made their home. The family would like to thank the staff at Vista Park Lodge for the excellent care given to Doug. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0G7. Honorary pallbearers will be Lorne Joyce, Ron Joyce, Gerry Joyce, Bob Joyce, Tony Sacco, Neal Hand. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. 1 East at Navin Rd. Interment to follow in the Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
