ELSIE AILEEN KIDD (nee LAMB) Peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2003 with her family at her side, Elsie Aileen Kidd passed away at the Boundary Trails Health Centre. Aileen was born in Estevan, SK on July 27, 1923. She was the eldest daughter to Richard and Elva Lamb. The family moved to Birch River, MB in 1926. Aileen attended Birch River and Swan River schools where she completed her education, then went on to Success Business College in Winnipeg where she received her diploma in stenography. She was employed by Mcauley & Westwood Law firm where she spent many years. In 1946 she and Andrew Kidd were married and for 30 years they farmed in Darlingford district; moving to Manitou in 1977 they were involved in golfing and travelling south to spend the winter in Texas and Arizona. In September 2002 they moved to Morden where they enjoyed the activities in the friendship center until Aileens health prevented her from taking part in the activities. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years; two sons, Gregory (Ellenor), Barry (Elaine) and one granddaughter Kimberly; two grandsons, Michael, Andrew and his wife Kristi; and three great-granddaughters; four sisters, Norma, Gwen, Barbara and Judy; three brothers, Edwin, Lester and Omar. Aileen was predeceased by her parents; brother Clive; two daughters-in-law, Donna and Henrietta. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Foundation. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7 at the St. Thomas Anglican Church, Morden, MB, with Rev. Brian Minaker officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment will be in the family plot at Darlingford Cemetery. Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden in care of arrangements.
