KATHLEEN RUSSELL Peacefully, in her sleep, on Monday, June 2, 2003, Kathleen Russell passed away at the Charleswood Care Centre at the age of 96 years. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband William Rufus Russell; by her son William and by her daughter Bernadette. She is survived by her son Michael; daughter-in-law Sandra; grandchildren, Cathy and Colleen, five great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe and Stanley (Julia) Kostiuk and sisters, Helen Turcan of Malonton, MB and Mary Samos of Penticton, BC. Kathleen was one of 13 children born to Joanna (Chlopecki) and John Kostiuk of Malonton, MB. She spent her adult life in Winnipeg and was a devout member of St. John Brebeuf Parish. She will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family and for her kind and caring nature. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff and associates at the Charleswood Care Centre for their loving care. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Koryluk at the St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place in River Heights on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the family plot in St. Marys Cemetery, Osborne Street following the mass. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made in Kathleens memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9.
