JOHN DOUGLAS LLOYD 1928-2003 After a brief illness, it is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of my husband, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, on June 1, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital. Surviving are his wife Rebecca (Betty) of 55 years; his children, Doug, Wayne (Alexis), Cory (Nadine), Thomas (Theresa), Sherri (Gord), Lisa (Derek) grandchildren, Lara, Tracey, Jason, Geoffrey, Tanya, Rhoni-Lynn, Kelsey, Erika, Jeffrey, Gerald, Sara and their respective spouses; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Emma, Paige, Findley. Brothers, Bill from Toronto, Albert (Betty) and sister Marge from Keromeos, B.C. and many nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his infant son Frankie; his parents Edward and Hazel and brother Ted. Doug was born in New Westminister B.C. and raised in Coquitlam, B.C. He joined the Merchant Navy at a very young age. Later he attained his 1st class power engineer certificate, working in Churchill, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Doug was a quiet person who was always there for his family and friends whom he loved and always gave life his best. He was a member of the Merchant Navy Association and Millennium Lodge. Dougs wishes for a private family service have been fulfilled. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON109, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
