Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANASTASIA SHALAPATA (nee KOSTIUK) Peacefully, on Friday, June 6, 2003 following a fall in her garden, Anastasia (Nettie) passed away in the Concordia Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Joseph (Detroit, MI) husband Frank and son-in-law Leonard Finney. She is survived by her daughters, Luba Finney with sons, Leonard and Lyndon (Debbie) with great-grandson Bennet, Nancy Drewniak (Paul) with daughters, Shelley Watkins (Kelly) with sons, Cameron and Colin, Joy DeVisser (Jason), son Frank Justin Shalapata; and sister-in-law Jessie Purser. She was born on September 10, 1913 in Winnipeg, the daughter of Wasyl and Justina Kostiuk. On October 23, 1936 she married Frank Shalapata of South Transcona and divided her time between his parents farm and caring for her ailing mother. In 1942 her mother passed away and the family made their home in Elmwood. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing one hour prior, in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concordia Hospital Foundation, Hip and Knee Program, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 3S8, or to a charity of ones choice.
