MARY JANE WILSON (nee WEBSTER) 1902 - 2003 Peacefully, at the Tiger Hills Health Centre, Treherne, MB, Mary Jane Wilson passed away at the age of 100 years on Thursday, June 5, 2003, beloved wife of the late Jack Wilson. Mary was predeceased by her husband Jack; her parents, Jacob and Elizabeth Webster; and several sister and brothers-in-law; and nieces, Pat Smith, Joyce Litton, and Margaret Sinclair. Those left to cherish her memory are Nancy (Bill) Crocker, Jack (Margaret) Wilson, Nancy (Ron) Kapicki, Brian (Lynn) Wilson, and cherished relatives, Robert and Shirlene Campbell, Ruth and George Hayes, and Allie Newton. Mary was an only child, born at Two Creeks, MB, and completed her schooling in Virden. She taught school in Rossburn and Rivers area before moving to Rathwell where she married and spent many years as Secretary-Treasurer of the school, 4H leader and community worker before they retired to Winnipeg in 1964. There she continued to work in the community with the Princess Elizabeth Guild and St. Albans Quilters. Mary had a great love for life. She enjoyed traveling, theatre, music, gardening and participated in many sports especially curling, golf and lawn bowling. Mary was a life member of the Eastern Star Electa Chapter No. 2. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and polite cheerfulness and love of children. A special thank you to the staff of Tiger Hills Care Home for their care and kindness during the past 10 years. Funeral services will be conducted from the Rathwell Community Centre, Rathwell, MB, on Thursday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marys memory to the St. Pauls Anglican Church, Rathwell, MB, R0G 1S0, the Tiger Hills Personal Care Home, Treherne, MB, R0G 2V0, or to the charity of ones choice.
