MYRTLE PHILLIPS (NEE BEDNAR) 1924 - 2003 Peacefully at the Tudor Home in Selkirk, Myrtle passed away on Friday, June 6. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Livia (John) Doidge of Brisbane, Australia, son Don (Susan) of Selkirk, MB; four grandchildren, Julia (Brian) Reid, Jonathon Doidge, Nicholas and Shelby Phillips; brother Frank (Ann) Bednar of Vita, MB and sister Victoria (Nestor) Kowalchuk of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Morris in March of 2000 as well as sister Mary (Korchak) and brothers, Mike and Stanley. A special thank you to the staff at the Tudor Home and Vita Personal Care Home for their care and kindness during the past two and a half years and all the Vita home care givers prior to that. Prayers will be sung at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Vita with Rev. Father Ihor Royik officiating.
