LAWRENCE EDWARD (JIM) DAVIS Lawrence Edward (Jim) Davis passed away peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimers. He was born in Rosser, MB on February 23, 1915. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Joyce of 55 years, son Barry (Bev), two grandchildren, Jennifer and Gregory; a foster daughter Evelyn Laham (Stan) and their three children, Stosh, Karen and Kim. He is survived by two sisters, Gladys Roche of Rosser and Olive Edgerton of California; one brother Gordon of Frontier, SK; also many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law June Davis of Kenora. He was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Zella Davis, two sisters, Eunice and Vera; one brother Victor. Jim farmed for the Roche family for many years. He retired in 1994 and moved to Lions Manor in Stonewall. Jim was a longtime member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Winnipeg and Knox in Stonewall. Friends may call from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 2:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. Deborah Vitt will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Hudson, Ben Blue, Brian Roche, Ron Roche, George Mckerracher, and Ken Corrigan. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Our family expresses their sincere thanks to all the wonderful and caring staff at Rosewood Lodge and all the home care and palliative care workers Jim had in the last few years. Could not have made it without you. There will always be a sadness and often a silent tear. But always special memories of the days when you were here. We love you Jim - Dad and Grandpa.
