MARIA DENISE CLAEYS (nee COTE) Born October 5, 1910 St. Boniface, Manitoba It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Denise Claeys on Saturday, June 7, 2003. Denise passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her husbands, Leon Weber-Monnier in 1934, Gilbert Claeys in 1979 and infant daughter in 1952; and her parents Francois Cote in 1975 and Emma in 1973. Denise was also predeceased by sisters, Rose Gourbil, Corana Boux, Lucie Votto, Annette Fontaine, Rita Allen, and Rolande Goguen; and brothers, Edmond and Pierre. Denise leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Robert (Dorothy) five granddaughters, Leona (Roland), Fern (Rob), Kim (Ray), Michele (Casey) and Audrey (Daryl) and seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Angele, Rachel, Nick, Julian, Brody and Bradly. Denise is survived by her brother Edouard; sister Rachel Belair and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua, 250 Burrin Ave., West Kildonan. Viewing will be held prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. According to Denises wishes, pallbearers will be granddaughters, Leona, Fern, Kim and Michele and great-granddaughters, Nicole and Angele. We wish to thank the 3rd and 4th floor staff and doctors at Seven Oaks Hospital, all her special Home-Care Caretakers, especially Karen and Diane, that gave Denise the opportunity to remain in her own home these last few years.
