DOROTHY EVELYN WESTWOOD (nee ANDREWS) July 8, 1917 - June 7, 2003 On Saturday June 7, 2003, Dorothy passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at Lions Manor Personal Care Centre. Dorothy was born in 1917 in Lundar, MB and moved to Winnipeg in 1939, worked at Deer Lodge Hospital from 1941 to 1949. She married her husband Stanley in 1949. Predeceased by her husband in May 1985 and stepson Gerald in November 1961. Dorothy leaves to mourn her sons, Harold and wife Debbie of Terrace, BC, Calvin and wife Valerie and family of Winnipeg; stepchildren, Laurine and husband George of Peachland, BC, Ken of Victoria, BC, Shirley of Victoria. Extended family, Jim and Carla Dunphy of Winnipeg and Ben Findlay of Winnipeg, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also brother-in-law Roy Westwood and wife Vivian of Brandon, MB; and sister-in-law Hazel Westwood of Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Lions Manor Personal Care Centre for the care and their support of Dorothy during her stay, especially the staff and nurses on the 3rd floor. Immediate cremation has taken place, a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 12 at St. Matthews Anglican Church, 641 St. Matthews at 10:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will be held at Rapid City Cemetery at 4:00 p.m., Allen Westwood officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Dorothys memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of their choice.
